Workspace

Anvil adds the Hotspot Mapping and Level Design workspaces. You must be in those workspaces to use Anvil features.

Blender workspace tabs showing the Anvil Level Design and Hotspot Mapping workspaces

Hold Right Mouse to enter free look. Move around using WASD

Pan the orthographic view using Middle Mouse. Rotate the orthographic view using 1/3/7/9.

Geometry

Create a few boxes using box builder B. Box builder works in object and edit mode.

Cut some holes using Cube Cut C. Use Weld W after eligible cuts to create corridors or alcoves.

Materials

Apply your first material by selecting a face and choosing an image in the texture browser.

With a textured face selected, use Alt-Left Mouse on another face to copy the material and tiled UV over.

Extrude E a face on a textured object and note how the texture retains its position, rotation, and scale in world space.

Select a textured face and press T to enter Texture Mode. Move the mouse to different edges to snap the texture to that edge.

Export

Use the inbuilt Blender exporters. Anvil currently provides additional export options for .glb files. Others will follow!

Next Steps

For more complete instructions, continue with Navigation & Selection, Material & UV Management, Geometry Tools, Hotspots, Prefabs, and Exporting.

To discover funcionality inside Blender, see the Anvil Materials, Anvil Prefabs, and Anvil Settings panels.
